Keep Worcester Walking in Winter

City of Worcester ordinances require property owners to clear snow and ice in front of and adjacent to their property. Property owners can be fined $75 per day and/or assessed the cost of removal by the City if they do not clear snow and ice. Do your part to keep sidewalks, curb-cuts, and ramps clear of snow and ice!
WHY YOU SHOULD SHOVEL:
Your neighbors need your help for:
- winter walking for transportation or health
- mobility for people with disabilities
- safety and injury prevention
YOU SHOULD SHOVEL WHEN:
Sidewalks, curb-cuts, and ramps should be cleared by 10 hours after snow stops falling. Apply sand or rock salt to make walkways less slippery. Free sand is distributed by the City at yard waste drop-off sites.
